Shes Back

Okay so class ended early today so I had a chance to do a few more pictures of the purple heaired girl from yesterdays post. I did one with Marker and one on Photoshop. You can clearly tell the difference. Enjoy them.
I actually forgot her ear in this one. And also her lip isnt as big.
And her ear is back. I was thinking shes probably Japanese or something. I was messing about with the burning and dodging tool in Photoshop. The burning tool helps me create shadow, and the dodg which prob works bestter creates the highlights on her lips and shoulders. I like it, though I do not know why. Perhaps il revisit her in a few weeks, but for now its back to these fecking essays!

Im way too busy for this!

Okay as it turns out updating this thing as much as possible is really hard. I got a load of Uni work dumped on me plus I got a free copy of the new Guild Wars add on from work so if im not trying stuff for the essay im playing it! not cool! well cool, but not...you know what Im getting at. Well anyways I've been looking at Hiroshige's works because his sketches are very similar to mine, or is that the other way around? Heres an attempted copy of one of his wood block prints ( I may get round to colouring it) one day.

And following this is a small marker coloured study of a girl with purple hair, and for some reason really big lips. Perhaps she was stung by a bee and is infact allergic? I quite like her anyways Im gonna do a few more sketches of her, maybe with clothes on....

Its been awhile

Okay so Ive been a lil busy but heres the next installment of Blogariffic artwork by yours truly.

This is the 7 samurai sketch from last time only i drew a bigger one in ink this time. Im still very happy with it. I might do some further work on it!

This is yet another quick sketch i did of people playing games consoles. Im getting excited about the new nintendo Wii, so i drew these 3 gamers, the girl is struggling with here PSP the guys gaming awa on his PS2 and the other guy is too poor too afford any of these fancy objects. I like the guys two tone hair its coo!

Finally Ive been playing alot of Yakuza for the PS2 that ive borrowed from work. Despite some bad reveiws I think its great! Its kinda like Shenmue meets Grand Theft Auto 3, its pretty nasty some of the fight scenes and move combos are very nasty. An example is throwing a bike on a dude then jumping on said bike crushing it and the skull of the poor bastard underneath. Nasty. The sketches really aint that good, infact I could even say i dislike them, but I havent drawn in 4 days and have done nothing but work, play Yakuza and drink....gimme a break. I bet Picasso did the same once.... and no the yakuza sketch guy isnt wearing womens shoes....they are snakeskin boots.

The french and the samurais

This charming drawing is a stereotyped gay french man, an artiste if you will. It was orginally for a friend of a friends film company called 'No-ART Films', and i quite liked the head sketch i did so i did a full size one, the gayness I threw in because i dislike pretentious people as a whole anyway. His stance is kinda fun to draw, i start off drawing a woman and just remove the boobs! he also has a cheeky look as if hes saying "Oh You!"

And here is the orginal drawing i did for them, inked in ps like months ago! I like the full siz one more but seeing as none are being used I can honestly say they are not my best work!

Last and not least, with my dissertation on Kurosawa and the upcoming screening of Seven Samurai, Ive revisited my love for his films, and thus cant get samuaris outta my head. I did this sketch in about 10 mins of a still from seven samuari, I quite like it, especially the 2nd from the lefts face, have a look its funny!! Might do some more samurai related stuff for awhile cuz its fun!

Heres hoping this works!

Heres a page of 'women' drawings i sketched the other day when I had some spare time, although some of the women are very ugly they could be men in drag! Im trying to define the figure alot more, I can get the heads no problems, but the female body is still a mystery to me on and off paper. I like the one in the bottom left, shes alot like Jen in the Dave and Ed comics. Infact she might well be.....who knows what goes through my head!


On a different note heres a sketch of a pirate! YARRRRRRRRR its kinda yellow cuz i drew it on a sketchpad during a lecture once, was probably European Cinema lol! Hes eatting an apple i think and his other hand isnt complete, that or he has scurvy of the hands....

Lastly this isnt a sketch as such, but its me with a box on my head being held up...... im in work....and im getting paid to mess about......oh dear!

Some old stuff

Heres a picture I did a month or 2 ago that i found. Its meant to my girlfriend at the time, I dont really like its kinda sharp edged or something. I dont like the photoshop skills at the time something im getting much better at though. Still its probably worth showing. I kinda like her eyes though, very suggestive hehe ;)

Sketching onwards and upwards

This is a wee picture I've done for a potenial character called Eamon, he is as you can tell an Emo Victim. Hes probably listening to My Chemical Romance or something equally depressing. He may feature as a side story, or just someone whom Dave and Ed and maybe Jen can make fun of... lets face it....thats not gona be hard.

Heres Eamon not finding a funny joke, funny. Typical! Congrats to my mate Fish for capturing the truck one fine day! I bet the Oil men are far from Emo! Probably manly men with Magnum moustaches and the likes.

Finally to conclude todays trip on the blog express a wee rough skecth i did last night after a few hours working on my screenplay for uni. Dave looks old and Ed looks like hes about to solve who shot JR. It was a dream he never actually got shot! Bam!
